Poker is a card game where players attempt to complete sets of five cards in a row. They may choose to play straight poker or draw poker. Each of these variants has a basic ranking system based on the suit of the cards. A straight is a set of five cards with the same suit. A flush is a set of five cards with the same suit in any order.<\/p>\n
If a player has three or more identical cards, then he or she has a full house. If more than one person has this combination, the high card outside of the set wins. A straight flush, meanwhile, is a straight with all the same suit. When there are more than one pair of four cards, a royal flush is achieved.<\/p>\n
The betting phase of poker ends when players reveal their hands. In this phase, the players reveal their cards clockwise around the table. The winning player is the one who has the best poker hand. Depending on the variation, a player may also check his or her hand. If he or she makes a high-ranking hand, then that player receives the pot.<\/p>\n
